CIDCA chairman meets with Egyptian ambassador to China

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Mohamed Elbadri, Egyptian ambassador to China, on April 12.

Luo said that China-Egypt bilateral relations have made great progress in recent years under the guidance of the two heads of state. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, China and Egypt have helped each other in times of difficulty and achieved fruitful results in anti-pandemic cooperation.

This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Egypt, and the CIDCA is willing to take this opportunity to work with Egyptian related authorities to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and to continue the anti-pandemic cooperation especially as regards vaccine. At the same time, China is willing to discuss more cooperation in public health, agriculture, education and tourism in the post-pandemic era so as to promote both sides’ strategic cooperative partnership to a new level and bring more benefits to the people of both countries.

Elbadri congratulated Luo on assuming his new post, saying that Egypt was the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic ties with China and that the two countries enjoy a long history of friendship.

Egypt highly appreciated China's outstanding contributions to cooperation in international development and anti-pandemic measures and expressed gratitude for China's support and assistance in Egypt's fight against the pandemic and economic recovery and social development, Elbadri said.

He said that Egypt is willing to continue close cooperation with China and make joint efforts to push forward bilateral relations, and to discuss cooperative projects in a third country with China.

The two sides exchanged in-depth views on specific issues related to development cooperation.
