Zhou Liujun, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Mamadou Ndiaye, Senegalese ambassador to China, on April 16.
Zhou said that under the guidance of the two heads of state, the current China-Senegal relations are developing rapidly and cooperation in various areas is advancing in depth and practicality.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, China and Senegal have worked together to go through the difficult times and their bilateral cooperation has been furthered even in the hard period, which fully showed the great vitality and broad space for the growth of their relations, said Zhou.
China is willing to make joint efforts with Senegal to thoroughly implement the fruits of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and promote their friendly cooperation to a new level so as to benefit the two countries and their people.
Ndiaye appreciated and spoke highly of the long-standing strong support from China to his country's economic and social development, especially the donation of anti-pandemic materials and vaccine since the COVID-19 outbreak. He said that China is Senegal's best friend and partner.
Senegal is willing to continue to work closely with China to deepen pragmatic cooperation and make positive contributions to the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, said Ndiaye.
