Zhou Liujun, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Manasa Tagicakibau, Fiji's ambassador to China, on April 20.
Zhou said that under the guidance of the two heads of state, China-Fiji comprehensive strategic partnership continues developing in depth, and cooperation in various fields continues going deeper and more practical.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, China and Fiji have stood shoulder to shoulder and helped each other through thick and thin, which fully shows the two countries' profound friendship, said Zhou, adding that China is willing to work together with Fiji to thoroughly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and to continue carrying out development cooperation with a view on the post-pandemic era so as to deliver tangible benefits to the people of two countries.
Tagicakibau congratulated CIDCA on its third anniversary, expressed gratitude for and spoke highly of the strong support from China for Fiji's economic and social development, especially the selfless assistance to Fiji when it's amid the pandemic and encountered hurricane.
He said that Fiji attaches great importance to its friendly cooperative relations with China and is willing to strengthen practical cooperation in such fields as agricultural poverty alleviation, infrastructure, education, health and environmental protection, and promote the two sides' friendship to a new level.
