Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Saidzoda Zohir, Tajikistan's ambassador to China, on April 20.
Deng said that China and Tajikistan are traditional friendly neighbors and in recent years their bilateral relations have been strategically upgraded and developed through the personal care and efforts of the two heads of state.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, China and Tajikistan have stood shoulder to shoulder and worked together to weather the storm, said Deng, adding that China is willing to work with Tajikistan to thoroughly implement the consensuses reached by the two heads of state and to promote the two countries’ comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new level.
Saidzoda said that the friendship between Tajikistan and China enjoys a long history and their people are closely connected. He said that Tajikistan thanks China for its strong support and assistance in Tajikistan’s fight against the epidemic and its economic recovery and social development. Tajikistan is willing to continue close cooperation with China to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations and the traditional friendship.
The two sides exchanged views on specific issues in areas of development cooperation.
