The second shipment of COVID-19 vaccine donated by the Chinese government to Guinea, arrived in Conakry, capital of the country, on April 25.
Chinese Ambassador to Guinea Huang Wei and Guinean Minister of Foreign Affairs Ibrahima Khalil Kaba attended the vaccine handover ceremony held at the airport.
Huang said that China has taken concrete actions to honor its commitment to make Chinese vaccine a global public good, and has made great efforts to overcome domestic difficulties to provide two batches of vaccine to Guinea within a short period of time, in the hope that the vaccine will help the Guinean government and people build a barrier against the pandemic.
On behalf of the Guinean president, government and people, Kaba expressed heartfelt thanks to China for lending a helping hand once again, which demonstrated the responsibility of a major power. He said he looks forward to strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fight against the pandemic and secure the final victory over the virus.
