The fourth batch of COVID-19 vaccines donated to Laos by China arrived at the Vadai International Airport in Vientiane, capital of Laos, on June 14. Officials from the Laotian Ministry of Health and the Chinese Embassy in Laos welcomed the delivery at the airport.
The Chinese government has provided the Laotian government with four batches of COVID-19 vaccine since February 2021. The fourth batch of delivery will be used for vaccinating residents of Vientiane starting from June 15. The China-donated vaccine will be distributed to all other provinces within the week, according to a health ministry official of Laos.
Laos has given priority to vaccinating high-risk groups, such as medical workers and customs staff, according to its national COVID-19 prevention and control committee.
