The second batch of China-donated COVID-19 vaccine to Kyrgyzstan arrived in the country's capital Bishkek on July 11.

Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen and Kyrgyz Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov attended the vaccine handover ceremony at the Manas International Airport.

Maripov, on behalf of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, thanked the Chinese government for once again providing COVID-19 vaccine assistance to the country and for its strong support for the procurement of Chinese made vaccines.

Maripov said that since the outbreak of COVID-19, China has continued to provide assistance to his country in the anti-pandemic fight, and his country was deeply moved and expressed its heartfelt gratitude to China.

He said he believes that the Chinese vaccine delivery will provide great help for the fight against the pandemic and promote vaccination work. Kyrgyzstan is willing to work with China to fight the pandemic and deepen the two countries' friendship and cooperation in various fields.

Du said that since the outbreak of the pandemic, China and Kyrgyzstan have always fought side by side and joined hands in the anti-pandemic fight. The traditional friendship between the two countries has further deepened in the cooperation in fighting the virus, he said.

He said China, starting from the high level of Sino-Kyrgyz relations, has once again provided vaccine assistance to Kyrgyzstan and actively supports the country in procuring the vaccine made in China. He said he believes that the Chinese vaccine will help to fight against the pandemic and protect people's lives and health.

Du added that China attaches great importance to international vaccine cooperation and firmly opposes "vaccine nationalism", and it has provided more than 450 million doses of vaccines to nearly 100 countries, making a positive contribution to the accessibility and affordability of the COVID-19 vaccine.
