CIDCA chairman meets with Pakistani ambassador to China

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Moin ul Haque, Pakistani ambassador to China, on July 21.

Haque expressed his deepest condolences for the recent serious casualties of Chinese nationals in Pakistan, and said the Pakistani government and people share the pain of the Chinese side and will fully cooperate with China to deal with the aftermath, investigate and arrest the culprit, and take further measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions in Pakistan. China is the most reliable friend and brother of Pakistan, has long provided selfless support and help to Pakistan, and recently also helped Pakistan to control the pandemic. As an "ironclad" friend of China, Pakistan is willing to work together with China to deepen Belt and Road cooperation and maintain regional peace and stability.

Luo said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners and have long carried out all-round cooperation and established an all-weather friendship. This year is the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, which the two sides have celebrated with a series of activities. The practical cooperation between them continues to deepen and the friendship between their people continues to strengthen.

The CIDCA is willing to work with Pakistan to implement the consensus of the two heads of state, further strengthen cooperation in combating the pandemic, promote the joint construction of the Belt and Road with high quality, and continuously boost friendly relations and cooperation in various fields between the two countries, said Luo.

He added that the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is advancing smoothly, and that Chinese personnel and related companies are contributing to the economic and social development of Pakistan. China is highly concerned about the safety of Chinese personnel in Pakistan and the Pakistani side has made efforts to protect it.

The unfortunate incident that happened a few days ago caused the most serious casualties among Chinese nationals in Pakistan in many years. The Pakistani side must take further practical and effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions and ensure that similar incidents do not occur again. At the same time, Pakistan must thoroughly investigate the incident, apprehend the culprits and give a responsible account to the Chinese side.
