China-donated respirators arrive in Havana

CIDCA| Updated: 2021-08-01

A shipment of respirators donated by China to Cuba arrived in Havana on July 31 to help Cuba cope with the new resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rodrigo Malmierca and Deborah Rivas, Cuban minister and deputy minister of foreign trade and foreign investment, and Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo thanked China on Twitter for providing valuable assistance to Cuba at a critical moment in its fight against COVID-19.

Cuban main media reported that since the outbreak of COVID-19, Cuba and China have been helping and looking out for each other. China donated many batches of respirators, masks, protective suits, thermometers, goggles and other anti-pandemic materials to Cuba last year, making an important contribution to Cuba's fight against the pandemic. This emergency donation of a new shipment of respirators once again demonstrates the unbreakable friendship between Cuba and China and their peoples.
