Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Ma Tao, Asia-Pacific regional director of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), on Aug 24.
Tian Lin, director-general of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation, Zheng Yuandong, deputy director-general of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs, and Liang Nan, director-general of the Department of International Affairs of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, also attended the meeting.
Luo congratulated Ma on assuming his new position, saying that China has always supported international development cooperation in civil aviation, having, over the years, provided assistance to other developing countries in civil aircraft, airport facilities, and security screening equipment, and trained a large number of civil aviation professionals and technicians.
He said that the CIDCA is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with the ICAO to support civil aviation development in developing countries, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.
Ma said that the ICAO and the CIDCA have maintained close cooperation, and that the projects implemented by both sides under the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund have achieved good results.
He expressed his hope that the CIDCA will continue to support the ICAO's work and consider working with the ICAO to conduct airworthiness certification training for Asia-Pacific countries.
