In his speech, Lei said China and Lesotho are good friends, brothers and partners, adding that the vaccine donation from China to Lesotho is a vivid manifestation of the close relationship between China and Lesotho and the friendship between the two peoples, and it is believed the Chinese vaccines will help the people of Lesotho in fighting COVID-19.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, China and Lesotho have been supporting each other and looking out for each other. China has provided several batches of anti-pandemic materials to Lesotho and sent a team of anti-pandemic medical experts to Lesotho to share experience in prevention and control.

Lei pointed out under the severe situation of the pandemic, the international community should strengthen solidarity and cooperation to jointly deal with it. Politicizing the pandemic and virus origin tracing will not help conquer the virus but will only bring harm to global anti-pandemic cooperation. Only through solidarity and cooperation of the international community and joint efforts can mankind overcome COVID-19.

Sekatle said he received the vaccine on behalf of Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro and sincerely thanked the Chinese government for its generous help. This vaccine donation fully demonstrates the deep friendship and relationship between Lesotho and China.
