Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, China and Vanuatu have been working together to fight the pandemic, which has become a model of international anti-pandemic cooperation.
As part of its program to make vaccine accessible and affordable to developing countries, China donated a batch of COVID-19 inactivated vaccine to Vanuatu to enhance its pandemic prevention ability.
The shipment arrived in Port Vila, capital of Vanuatu, in June 2021 and was greatly welcomed by local people who were looking forward to being vaccinated with the Chinese vaccine as soon as possible.
Many of Vanuatu’s medical staff fully trusted the Chinese vaccine’s safety and effectiveness. They were vaccinated immediately when Vanuatu launched a vaccination program.
"I feel safer after being vaccinated and there is no untoward effect. We are confident about the Chinese vaccine. My family members and friends will also accept it, and we are really thankful for China's help," a medical worker said.
