CIDCA| Updated: 2021-09-18

Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), and Beate Trankman, resident representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in China, signed a cooperation agreement on Sept 15 to support Pakistan's Balochistan province in enhancing its capability of containing the COVID-19 pandemic and providing public services.

According to the cooperation agreement, the Chinese government will work together with the UNDP via the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund to help strengthen the province's capacity to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, improve its public services, and speed up its efforts to achieve sustainable development goals by supporting it in formulating solutions for local basic public services and offering anti-pandemic supplies and facilities to local medical and educational institutes.
