CIDCA vice-chairman attends 10th Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor

Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), attended the 10th Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor via video link on Sept 23.

Zhang said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners and hard-core friends. Led by the important consensus of the two heads of state, they have supported each other, worked together to combat COVID-19, promoted real and deep practical cooperation, and actively built a China-Pakistan community with a shared future.

The two sides have promoted social and livelihood cooperation and achieved fruitful results in building the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and supporting the social and economic development of Pakistan, said Zhang.

China is willing to continue to strengthen international cooperation with Pakistan in the fight against the pandemic and accelerate the implementation of cooperative projects in social and livelihood areas to better benefit the Pakistani people, he said.

During the meeting, Zhang signed relevant intergovernmental cooperation agreements with the general secretaries of the Pakistani Ministry of Planning Development and Special Initiatives and Ministry of Economic Affairs.
