The Chinese government decided to send a team of medical experts to Kazakhstan in April 2020 to help the country cope with COVID-19. The team arrived on April 9, 2020.
The fight against the pandemic is like putting out a fire. During the busy 15 days in Kazakhstan, 10 members of the team from China's Xinjiang moved around the three cities of Nur-Sultan, Qaraghandy and Alma-Ata, making their first stop at the National Center of Public Health of Kazakhstan.
The Chinese experts had an in-depth discussion with the Kazakh side and learned in detail about the development of the pandemic in Kazakhstan and the difficulties of prevention and control.
They then visited a number of hospitals and isolation hotels to identify problems and propose solutions in case screening, infectious disease prevention and control, clinical treatment and community health management.
