Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, met with Pham Sao Mai, Vietnamese ambassador to China, on Oct 29.
Deng said China and Vietnam are socialist neighbors linked by mountains and rivers and the two countries are a community with a shared future that has strategic significance. Under the strategic leadership of the two parties' general secretaries, relations between the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Vietnam and both countries have continued to deepen and develop.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the two parties and peoples have stood by each other and overcome difficulties together, reflecting their deep friendship and brotherhood, said Deng, adding that China will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, continue to provide assistance to the Vietnamese side within its capabilities, and help the Vietnamese side overcome the pandemic and resume economic and social development as soon as possible.
Pham Sao Mai thanked China for its selfless help and valuable support for Vietnam's economic and social development, especially the anti-pandemic materials and vaccine assistance, which have played an important role in Vietnam's anti-pandemic fight and economic and social development restoration. All of these reflect true friendship in times of trouble.
Vietnam will work closely with China to implement the consensus reached by the two leaders and make the fruits of development cooperation between the two countries better benefit the two peoples, said Pham Sao Mai.
The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on specific issues in the field of development cooperation between the two countries.
