Dada Oluseyi Akintunde, a teacher at the University of Calabar in Nigeria, came to China in June 2016 to participate in the 2016 Training Course on Jewelry Processing Technology in Developing Countries, a human resource development program organized by the Chinese government.
The training course was attended by 54 participants from 14 countries, including Ghana, South Africa, Niger, Botswana and Zambia.
The course aimed to teach trainees the concept and techniques of jewelry processing in China so that they could bring these skills back to their home countries.
At the closing ceremony of the course, Dada, as the representative of the trainees, expressed his recognition of the course's value and his gratitude to the Chinese government, as well as gave the organizers a poem as a gift.
He said that in Nigeria, giving a poem to someone is the most sincere way to express gratitude. He said he will spare no effort to promote China and be a messenger of cultural exchanges between China and Nigeria after he returns home.
