On November 29, 2021 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister of Central African Republic (CAR) Sylvie Baïpo Témon in Dakar on the sidelines of the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Wang Yi said, the CAR is a good friend and good partner of China. The two countries always treat each other as equals and support each other. China welcomes the CAR to join the big family of Belt and Road cooperation, and stands ready to take this ministerial conference as an opportunity to lift China-CAR friendship and cooperation to a new level and boost the development and revitalization of the CAR.
Wang Yi said, China actively supports the CAR in its fight against the pandemic. China has provided vaccines, test kits and other prevention and control materials to the CAR, and is ready to continue vaccine cooperation based on the needs of the CAR. China is also willing to conduct exchanges and cooperation with the CAR on combating malaria and other tropical epidemics to improve the health and well-being of the people of the CAR.
Baïpo said, the important initiatives announced by President Xi Jinping today on cooperation with Africa highlight the "sincerity" and "real results" as well as the people-centered philosophy, which is impressive. Africa and China are truly a community with a shared future. The CAR thanks China for its generous assistance at our most difficult times. China's support is tangible and down-to-earth, bringing great benefits to African countries, including the CAR. The CAR hopes that China will continue to support the legitimate concerns of the CAR on multilateral occasions and support Africa's peaceful development.
