Tara Devi Tatwa's life was hardly easy in Nepal. Her oldest son was crippled and unable to work, and her two other sons had to find work abroad.
And that was before the disaster. In August 2017, a sudden flood washed away all her property.
The Chinese government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), cooperating under the framework of the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund, carried out post-disaster relief in Nepal in a timely manner. A total of 31,800 households received non-food assistance packages that benefited 186,600 people.
Tara received blankets, cooking utensils and water. The basic materials helped her family get back on their feet. She said the materials were the most important support for her family to respond to the flooding. The aid supplies provided by China greatly improved local residents' living conditions.
