A training program organized by the Chinese government was held in Beijing in September 2018 to help enhance female officials' leadership in the developing world.
Forty-one female officials from 13 developing countries, including Oman, Ethiopia, Palestine, South Africa, and Gambia, participated in the program.
The program featured a combination of theory and practice, with over 10 lectures focusing on such topics as China's national condition, female leadership and strategic thinking, the progress of China's legislation related to women, and challenges and solutions for women's development in different countries.
On the practice side, field trips were organized for the officials to help them have a better understanding of women's development in China.
During the trips, they not only learned about the development of the new countryside, civilized communities, and grassroots women's organizations, but also gained a clear view of women's social organization services, employment, entrepreneurship, and intellectual life.
Attending lectures and taking field trips, they got the chance to obtain professional knowledge on female leadership and the Chinese government's practice and experience in promoting the status of women, as well as the leading role of women's organizations at all levels.
They said they were inspired by China's development philosophy and will strive to promote women's development in their countries while further strengthening cooperation with China.
