CIDCA chairman meets with Bangladeshi ambassador to China

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Mahbub Uz Zaman, Bangladeshi ambassador to China, on March 30.

Luo said Bangladesh is a friendly neighbor of China, and China-Bangladesh strategic partnership of cooperation has been deepening under the leadership of the two heads of state. The traditional friendship between the two countries and peoples has been consolidated and deepened through their anti-pandemic cooperation and mutual support. He added that the two sides have made fruitful achievements in various areas of cooperation including large infrastructure, people's livelihoods and human resources development. 

He said that the CIDCA is willing to continue to promote China-Bangladesh development and cooperation, carry out more people-centered projects, and deepen their cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, to boost bilateral relations.  

Zaman expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese government for its long-standing selfless assistance to the social and economic development of Bangladesh. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in particular, China has provided a large amount of anti-pandemic supplies and vaccines to Bangladesh, effectively helping his country's social and economic recovery, he added. 

He said that Bangladesh is willing to work closely with China to achieve more cooperative outcomes. 

Director-General of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Bai Bin and Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation Xu Wei, as well as Deputy Chief of Mission at Bangladesh Embassy Md Nazrul Islam attended the meeting.
