Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Olga Dzhumaeva, head of the East Asia Delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), on June 10.
Dzhumaeva thanked the Chinese government and the CIDCA for their support for humanitarian causes, especially for the selfless assistance provided to countries and people affected by COVID-19. She highly agrees with China's people-centered philosophy and hopes to strengthen her organization's partnership with the CIDCA to explore practical cooperation in the areas of healthcare, climate change, disaster prevention and mitigation, and to work together to address global challenges.
Deng congratulated Dzhumaeva on her new position and said that the CIDCA and the IFRC have a good foundation for cooperation in humanitarian assistance.
He said the CIDCA is willing to strengthen communication with the IFRC, jointly promote the Global Development Initiative, deepen cooperation at the global, regional and national levels, and promote the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues of common concern.
