Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with the outgoing Bangladeshi Ambassador to China, Mahbub Uz Zaman, on July 28.
Luo spoke positively of Zaman's contribution to promoting the practical cooperation between China and Bangladesh during his tenure, saying that China and Bangladesh are traditionally friendly neighbors, and that guided by the consensus reached between the two heads of state, the strategic partnership between the two countries has further deepened and development cooperation has yielded fruitful results.
Luo said China is willing to work with Bangladesh to actively implement the Global Development Initiative, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and promote the implementation of small but useful projects that will bring more benefits to the people.
Zaman expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese government for its long-standing selfless assistance to the social and economic development of Bangladesh, especially for the large amount of anti-pandemic materials and vaccines that China has taken the lead in providing to Bangladesh, which has effectively helped the country combat the pandemic and restore its economy.
He thanked CIDCA for its support in carrying out his duties in China, and said he is willing to continue to pay attention to the development of Bangladesh-China relations and promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
The two sides also held an in-depth exchange of views on specific matters of common interest.
