On the afternoon of July 29, 2022, President Xi Jinping had a phone conversation with President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
Xi Jinping pointed out, at the beginning of this year, you came to China to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, and we had friendly exchanges and reached many important consensuses on advancing bilateral relations. Since then, various departments of the two countries have actively worked with each other for implementation, and made positive progress in the export of Polish agricultural products to China, China-Europe freight trains and personnel exchanges. The Chinese side cherishes its traditional friendship with Poland and regards Poland as its priority partner for cooperation in Europe, and stands ready to maintain close communication with the Polish side, enhance political mutual trust and elevate the China-Poland comprehensive strategic partnership.
Xi Jinping stressed, the two sides should strengthen policy communication, make use of such mechanisms as the China-Poland Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee and the Joint Committee on Trade and Economy to strengthen strategic synergy, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, deepen pragmatic cooperation in economy and trade, connectivity and other fields, and foster new growth points for cooperation in green development, digital economy and other fields. China welcomes more Polish quality products to enter the Chinese market and encourages more Chinese enterprises to invest in Poland. The two sides should make efforts to promote the early implementation of the China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) wholesale market for agricultural products, and actively cooperate in planning and organizing relevant events to mark the 10th anniversary of China-CEEC cooperation, so as to lay a solid foundation for cooperation in the next decade. He hopes that Poland will actively support the development of China-European Union (EU) relations and uphold the overall situation of China-EU relations.
Duda said, I am glad to have attended the opening ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 in China in February this year and held a good meeting with you, which is still fresh and impressive in my mind. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the important consensus we reached is being implemented. Relevant departments of both sides maintain close communication and cooperation in related fields continues to advance. Poland attaches great importance to China's international status and role as well as to developing relations with China. The Polish side stands ready to work with China to push for more achievements in bilateral cooperation in economy and trade, logistics, connectivity and other fields, and more Chinese enterprises are welcome to carry out investment and cooperation in Poland. Poland is ready to continue to actively promote CEEC-China cooperation and the development of EU-China relations.
