The Online Seminar on Enhancing Professional Competence for Cambodian Civil Servants closed on Sept 5. Xu Wei, director-general of the Department of International Cooperation of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), attended and addressed the closing ceremony.
Huot Synead, undersecretary of state of the Ministry of Civil Service (MCS) of Cambodia, Liu Rutao, vice-president of the Academy for International Business Officials of the Ministry of Commerce of China, together with 32 department-level officials from the MCS attended the ceremony.
On behalf of the MCS of Cambodia, Huot expressed his appreciation for the successful holding of the training program by the Chinese government. He said that the program is significant in improving the administrative abilities of civil servants in Cambodia, as well as promoting Cambodia's civil service administrative reform. He said that he looks forward to more cooperation with China in the field of human resources.
Xu introduced the basic situation of the CIDCA, as well as China’s achievements and contributions in international development cooperation, especially in the area of human resources foreign aid. He said that China and Cambodia have enjoyed a long and all-weather friendship. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the two countries have looked out for one another and have vividly demonstrated the meaning of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future. He said that China and Cambodia are good neighbors, friends, partners and brothers, and that China is willing to continue to provide assistance in the socioeconomic development of Cambodia, so that it can benefit from the Global Development Initiative.
The program is the first one implemented since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between China’s National Civil Service Administration and Cambodia's Ministry of Civil Service.
