Yang Jiechi Meets with Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Ivanovich Denisov

On September 12, 2022, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Yang Jiechi met with outgoing Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Ivanovich Denisov.

Yang Jiechi spoke highly of Denisov's contributions to the sound and stable development of China-Russia relations. Yang Jiechi noted that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, bilateral relations have moved steadfastly forward on the right track. The two sides have firmly supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and cooperated closely on international and multilateral occasions. China will work with Russia to make the high-level strategic coordination between the two countries more concrete and substantive, safeguard the common interests of the two sides, and work for a more just and equitable international order.

Denisov said under the personal guidance of the two heads of state, Russia-China relations have yielded fruitful results, reaching a historical high and ushering in a new era. Recalling his personal experience of China's remarkable achievements in economic and social development in the past 20 years, Denisov expressed readiness to continue to contribute his share to the development of bilateral relations.
