Ninety-five China-aided tents were installed in the Matli area of Badin district, in Pakistan's southern Sindh province.

According to statistics released by Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority on Sept 29, various disasters caused by heavy rainfall in Pakistan have killed 1,678 people, affected more than 33.04 million people and destroyed over 2 million houses.

After the disasters, the Chinese government spared no efforts in providing urgently-needed relief supplies, including tents and food.

A staff member of Matli told Xinhua News Agency that the camp in Matli is using the China-aided tents to provide shelter for 581 people, including 379 children, and that there are many more such camps across Badin district. "The flood has triggered many epidemics, including dengue fever," said the staff member, adding that the China-aided tents are of good quality and have multi-functions, including being water-proof, having good ventilation, warmth preservation and mosquito prevention. Used together with the China-aided waterproof felt, "they keep us away from those diseases.”
