CIDCA vice-chairman meets with Cuban ambassador to China

Tang Wenhong, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency(CIDCA), met with Cuban Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira on Jan 18, 2023.

Noting that China and Cuba are good friends, comrades and brothers that share great achievements in development cooperation, Tang said that the CIDCA stands ready to work with Cuba to implement the outcomes of meetings between the two heads of state, promote the Global Development Initiative(GDI) and deepen development cooperation. 

The visit of Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban president, to China last November is of great significance to the bilateral relations, said Pereira. He said that Cuba appreciates China's strong support in their COVID-19 response and in improving people's livelihoods, adding that Cuba is willing to further its cooperation with China under the GDI and promote the implementation of development and cooperation projects in different areas.

 The two sides also exchanged views on development cooperation between the two countries, and signed relevant agreements after the meeting.
