CIDCA chairman meets with Pakistani foreign secretary

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with visiting Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Asad Majeed Khan on March 16, 2023.

Luo congratulated Majeed on assuming office as foreign secretary. He said that the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic partnership has continuously deepened under the leadership of the heads of state of the two countries. The CIDCA is ready to work closely with related departments of Pakistan to fully implement consensuses reached between the two heads of state, promote further implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and help with post-disaster reconstruction in Pakistan, Luo said. He also briefed on China's progress in implementing the GDI and its considerations for work in the next stage.

Noting that the Pakistan-China all-weather friendship has grown ever stronger, Majeed raised hope for deepened cooperation with the CIDCA in such areas as infrastructure, medical and health care, education, and culture; to learn from China's experiences in economic development, especially in the construction of special economic zones; and to jointly write a new chapter of all-weather friendship.

The two sides exchanged views on development cooperation topics. Pakistani Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque also attended the meeting.
