Tang Wenhong, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), visited President of Kiribati Taneti Maamau in Tarawa on March 24 local time, during his trip to the country.
The two sides spoke highly of the progress made in bilateral relations and international development cooperation over the past three years, since the resumption of diplomatic ties between the two countries. They also exchanged views on the Global Development Initiative and philosophy of development cooperation.
Chinese Ambassador to Kiribati Tang Songgen, head of the economic and commercial section of the Chinese Embassy Xu Haohang, Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs Zhang Lihua, and the permanent secretaries to Kiribati's Cabinet, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, and Ministry of Information, Communications and Transport were also present.
