China, EU hold departmental consultations on international development cooperation

Departmental consultations on China-EU international development cooperation were held in Beijing on March 27, 2023. Xu Wei, director-general of the Department of International Cooperation of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), and Peteris Ustubs, the director responsible for the Middle East, Asia and Pacific of the European Commission's Directorate-General for International Partnerships (INTPA), co-hosted the meeting.

The two sides exchanged views on such topics as respective initiatives and plans for international development cooperation, providing development financing to partner countries, taking climate change factors into account in development projects, exploring joint assessment models, and the direction for future cooperation.

Head of the Global Development Promotion Center of the CIDCA Tang Ying, Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of Supervision and Evaluation Shentu Jiang, and Development Counsellor of the EU Delegation to China Ellen Kelly also attended the meeting.
