Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with visiting Vice-minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan Shahlo Turdikulova on March 28.
Noting that Uzbekistan is an important cooperation partner of China, Deng said that China attaches great importance to and supports the development of education and science and technology in Uzbekistan. China is ready to work with Uzbekistan to jointly implement consensuses reached by the heads of state of the two countries, build the Belt and Road to a high quality, push for positive yields in the implementation of the Global Development Initiative in Uzbekistan, and continuously promote the development of bilateral relations, he said.
Turdikulova extended appreciation to China for its strong support in the socioeconomic development of Uzbekistan. Noting China has remarkable strength in sci-tech development and is leading the world in biological science and other development fields, she said that Uzbekistan is looking forward to deepening cooperation with China and seeking greater Chinese support in enhancing its sci-tech innovation capacity.
The two sides held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation projects.
The CIDCA's Director-General of the First Department of Regional Affairs Bai Bin, and Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation Du Wei also attended the meeting.
