CIDCA chairman meets with visiting deputy prime minister of Cuba

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with visiting Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba Jorge Luis Perdomo on March 30, 2023.

Luo introduced the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and this year's two sessions, reviewed the implementation of the consensus reached between the two heads of state during President Miguel Diaz-Canel's visit to China last year, as well as progress in key cooperation fields between China and Cuba.

He said that China is ready to carry out in-depth cooperation with Cuba under the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and strengthen exchange of governance experiences, in a bid to better benefit the two countries and their people.

Perdomo extended congratulations on the successful holdings of the 20th CPC National Congress and the two sessions, lauded China's achievements over the past decade, and thanked the Chinese government and people for their support and assistance to Cuba over the years. He pledged to continue to firmly support the GDI, further strengthen cooperation in various fields and deepen friendly and cooperative bilateral relations.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation projects. Liu Junfeng, director-general of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs, Xu Wei, director-general of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation, Cai Wei, director-general of the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs of China's Foreign Ministry, Cuban Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira, and Cuban Minister of Communications Mayra Arevich Marin also attended the meeting.
