Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with visiting Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia Khurelbaatar on April 4, 2023.
Luo said that China and Mongolia are traditional friendly neighbors, noting the visit of Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh to China last November yielded key consensuses on the development of bilateral relations. Positive progress had been made in bilateral development cooperation, with joint efforts by both sides promoting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road, he said, adding that China is ready to strengthen communication with Mongolia in expanding cooperation channels and resources, promoting the implementation of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and building a closer China-Mongolia community with a shared future.
Khurelbaatar, also minister of economy and development of Mongolia, said that his country has always cherished its friendship with China. He came to China to attend the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2023, and was impressed by China’s achievements in such fields as sci-tech development, new energy and the green economy. Noting that Mongolia supports the China-proposed GDI, he said that Mongolia looks forward to further cooperation with China in the economy and trade in order to accelerate the development of the Mongolian economy.
The two sides also held in-depth exchanges on bilateral ties and specific cooperative projects.
