Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with visiting Minister of Development, Territorial Equipment and Public Works of the Republic of the Congo Jean Jacques Bouya on May 10, 2023.
Luo said that under the guidance of the heads of state of the two countries, the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Congo has reached a new level with deepened political mutual trust and fruitful results in bilateral development cooperation. China is ready to work with Congo to jointly implement the consensuses reached between the two heads of state, expand the scope of bilateral cooperation and promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) in a bid to benefit the people of both countries, he said.
Bouya spoke highly of the bilateral development cooperation and extended his appreciation to the Chinese government for its long-term assistance in various areas, which has played a significant role in boosting socioeconomic development and improving people's livelihoods in his country. Congo will work closely with China to proactively implement the GDI and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and promote greater achievements in various fields of cooperation.
The two sides also exchanged views on specific cooperation projects. Congolese Minister of Economy and Finance Jean-Baptiste Ondaye, Ambassador of Congo to China Jacques Jean Luc Nyanga, Director-General of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs Bai Bin, and Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation Du Wei also attended the meeting.
