CIDCA vice-chairman meets with South African public works and infrastructure official

Zhong Haidong, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with acting Deputy Director General of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure of South Africa Nkosana Kubeka on May 24, 2023.

Zhong said that China and South Africa enjoy a special friendship of "comrades plus brothers", and the bilateral relations have achieved rapid development with fruitful cooperative results under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state in recent years. China is ready to work with South Africa to jointly implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and strive for more cooperative outcomes, he said.

Kubeka expressed his admiration for the great achievements of China's reform and opening-up, as well as appreciation to the Chinese government for its support in the socioeconomic development of South Africa. South Africa is willing to learn from China's development experience and deepen cooperation, and looks forward to more assistance from China on port construction and planning, he said.

Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs Zhang Lihua also attended the meeting.
