Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Aishath Azeema, ambassador of the Maldives to China, on May 26, 2023.
Deng welcomed the ambassador on her visit and said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the bilateral relations of the two countries have maintained long-term stable development, with fruitful results in development cooperation. China is ready to work with the Maldives to implement the key consensuses reached by the two heads of state, build the Belt and Road to a high standard, proactively promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, and deepen bilateral cooperation, in a bid to benefit the people of both countries, he said.
Azeema extended her appreciation for China's long-term support in the socioeconomic development and improvement of people's livelihoods in her country, adding that the Maldives looks forward to learning more from China's experience in state governance, and working closely with China for more positive results in bilateral cooperation.
The two sides held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation projects.
