Another shipment of 3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, aided by the Chinese government to Myanmar, arrived at the Yangon International Airport on June 7.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, China has provided directly or indirectly 64 million doses of vaccines and a large amount of anti-pandemic supplies to Myanmar, which has helped the country reduce its numbers of infections, critical cases and mortality, and contributed to the building of the China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
This new batch of vaccines is a positive response to Myanmar's recent request to China for additional vaccine assistance for disadvantaged groups in the country, such as senior citizens.
