The first High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development will be held from July 9 to 10 in Beijing, according to Xu Wei, spokesperson for the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA). Representatives from over 130 countries and international organizations will attend the event online and onsite.
In September 2021, President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Development Initiative (GDI) at the United Nations General Assembly. In June 2022, Xi announced 32 pragmatic measures to implement the GDI, one of which is hosting this forum.
Themed on "Global Action for the China-proposed GDI", and aiming to build consensus for addressing development issues, the forum is composed of four parallel sessions: Global Public Goods at a Critical Juncture: Refocusing on Poverty Reduction and Food Security, Global Green Development in the Context of Carbon Neutrality, Capital Mobilization and Sustainable Financing Development, and Integrate Digital & AI Know-hows to Facilitate Global Interconnectivity and Development.
