CIDCA chairman meets with Gabonese foreign minister

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Gabonese Republic Hermann Immongault, who came to China to attend the first high-level conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, on July 9, 2023.

Luo welcomed Immongault on his visit. He said that Gabon is a good friend and good partner of China and the two countries have always been sincere and friendly to each other and treated each other equally, with bilateral relations and pragmatic cooperation constantly deepening. China is willing to work with Gabon to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen cooperation under the framework of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and promote the sound and sustainable development of the China-Gabon comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Immongault thanked China for its long-term support for Gabon’s socioeconomic development, expressing willingness to promote the high-quality co-building of the Belt and Road, and actively support and participate in the GDI, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative. He said Gabon is willing to learn from China's development experience and deepen pragmatic cooperation so as to benefit the two countries and their people.

The two sides also exchanged views on common concerns.

Ambassador of Gabon to China Baudelaire Ndong Ella and Director-General of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs Bai Bin also attended the meeting.
