Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu on Aug 9, 2023.
Luo noted the special relationship of "comrades plus brothers" between China and Vietnam as two socialist neighbors connected by mountains and rivers and a strategically significant community with a shared future. China is ready to work with Vietnam in jointly implementing the key consensus reached between the two countries' leaders, and expand cooperation in such areas as infrastructure development, improvement of people's livelihoods and human resource development in a bid to jointly implement the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and deepen the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership, he said.
Nguyen expressed his appreciation to China for its long-term assistance and support to the socioeconomic development of his country, and lauded the CIDCA's role in promoting the bilateral ties of the two countries. He said that Vietnam is willing to join hands with China in co-building the Belt and Road with high quality, actively participate in the GDI, and deepen pragmatic cooperation for the benefit of the people of both countries.
The two side also exchanged views on specific cooperation projects. Liu Junfeng, director-general of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs, and Xu Wei, director-general of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation, also attended the meeting.
