China, Pakistan hold videoconference on development cooperation

On Aug 23, Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), and Secretary for theMinistry of Economic Affairs of Pakistan Kazim Niaz co-hosted a videoconference on China-Pakistan development cooperation.

Deng noted that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners, and regardless of changes in the international landscape, the two countries have always treated each other with sincerity and trust and shared weal and woe.

Under the guidance of the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, the CIDCA and the Pakistani Ministry of Economic Affairs have maintained close communication and collaboration, achieving fruitful results in the field of development cooperation, Deng said. China is ready to work together with Pakistan to co-build the Belt and Road to a high standard, implement the Global Development Initiative, and strengthen practical cooperation in various fields, in a bid to jointly build a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future, he added.

Kazim said that Pakistan values its brotherly relationship with China and appreciates the valuable support provided by the Chinese government for its socioeconomic development and improvement of people's livelihoods. He praised the important role played by the CIDCA.

Pakistan is willing to maintain close communication with China, strengthen development cooperation, and jointly build the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to a high standard for the benefit of both countries and their people, he said.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges of views on projects of mutual concern, including social welfare involved in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and post-disaster reconstruction. They reviewed the progress of relevant projects in detail and clarified the focus of future work.

Representatives from relevant departments as well as embassies and consulates of both sides attended the meeting.
