CIDCA vice-chairman addresses seminar on China’s role in achieving 2030 Agenda

On Sept 14, 2023, Zhao Fengtao, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), attended and addressed a seminar titled "accelerating progress towards the 2030 Agenda: China"s progress, challenges and path forward", which was co-hosted by the United Nations China system and the Center for China and Globalization (CCG).

In his speech, Zhao said that development, as an eternal theme for human civilization, is a common concern of the international community. China has made steadfast efforts in promoting the realization of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by lifting itself out of absolute poverty, which is a historical achievement, blazing a Chinese path to modernization and contributing to the world through its self-development, he said.

Noting that in response to the challenges of the times, China proposed the Global Development Initiative, contributing Chinese solution, wisdom and strength to global common development, he called for united efforts and common action by all parties to strive for the implementation of the GDI and the realization of the UN 2030 Agenda, with no countries or individuals being left behind.
