CIDCA vice-chairman meets with Uruguayan deputy foreign minister

On Sept 26, 2023, Vice-Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Tang Wenhong met with Uruguayan Deputy Foreign Minister Nicolás Albertoni to exchange views on promoting bilateral development cooperation.

Noting that China and Uruguay are good neighbors spanning thousands of miles, Tang said that the two countries have witnessed closer cooperation in various fields in recent years. China is willing to take the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties with Uruguay as an opportunity to continue their traditional friendship, strengthen cooperation under the framework of the Global Development Initiative, and plan and carry out "small yet smart" projects related to people's livelihoods, so as to benefit the people of both countries, he said.

Albertoni expressed his appreciation to the Chinese government for its long-term support to the socioeconomic development and improvement of people's livelihoods in his country. Uruguay is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with China to promote more positive outcomes of bilateral cooperation, he said.

The two sides also held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation matters. Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs Cai Fang and Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation Meng Ran also attended the meeting.
