CIDCA vice-chairman meets with Vietnamese minister of transport

Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Nguyen Van Thang, minister of transport of Vietnam, on Sept 27, 2023.

Deng said that China and Vietnam are friendly socialist neighbors and a community with a shared future of strategic significance, as well as a special comradeship and brotherhood. China is willing to work with Vietnam to actively implement the important consensus reached between the two heads of state, expand cooperation in such areas as railway infrastructure, improvement of people's livelihoods and human resources development, jointly promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and continuously enrich the connotation of the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation, he said.

Nguyen expressed his appreciation to China for its massive and selfless assistance over the years, especially in the field of railway infrastructure. He said that Vietnam is ready to work with China to jointly build the Belt and Road with high quality, proactively support the GDI, and strive for more pragmatic cooperation results in the field of connectivity in a bid to enhance the well-being of the people of both countries.

Officials from related departments of Vietnamese Transport Ministry, Director-General of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Liu Junfeng, Deputy Director-General Wang Daohao, and Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation Li Yi also attended the meeting.
