Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Farhod Arziev, ambassador of Uzbekistan to China, on Oct 12, 2023.
Deng said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Over the past decade, the joint building of the Belt and Road has adhered to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits; adopted the concepts of openness, green development and integrity; pursued high standards, sustainability and benefits for the people; and achieved substantial and historic results.
Noting that the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation will be held next week, Deng said that China is ready to work with Uzbekistan and other countries to unswervingly promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, see the cooperation thrive and expand further, and inject new and strong impetus into the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Arziev said that Uzbekistan firmly supports the China-proposed BRI. Over the past decade, the two sides have witnessed further expansion of cooperation areas, constantly increasing common interests and continuous achievements in cooperation, he said, adding that Uzbekistan is willing to make more contributions to promoting bilateral cooperation in various fields.
He thanked China for its long-term support and assistance to his country over the years and expressed his expectation of learning from China's development experience in such areas as tourism, agriculture and poverty reduction.
The two sides also held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation projects.
