On Oct 17, 2023, at the witness of the two heads of state, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Luo Zhaohui and Executive Director of the Chilean International Cooperation Agency (AGCI) Enrique O'Farrill signed a memorandum of understanding on promoting the implementation of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) on behalf of their respective agencies, under which the two sides decided to strengthen their strategic alignment and expand pragmatic cooperation under the GDI framework.
According to the MOU, the two sides agreed to focus on the eight key areas of cooperation under the GDI, actively carry out policy dialogue and exchanges, strive to strengthen bilateral and tripartite cooperation, and jointly build more result-oriented projects that will benefit developing countries and help them accelerate the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
