CIDCA chairman meets with Pakistan's senate chairman

On Oct 24, 2023, Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Chairman of Pakistani Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, who is in Beijing to attend the International Symposium to Commemorate the 10th Anniversary of China's Principle of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit and Inclusiveness in Neighborhood Diplomacy.

Noting that China and Pakistan are good friends, partners and brothers, Luo said that the two countries have achieved remarkable results in the joint building of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and in such areas as infrastructure, the improvement of people’s livelihoods and human resource development, renewing their iron-clad friendship. The CIDCA is ready to work with Pakistan to jointly implement the key consensus reached by the two heads of state, proactively promote "small yet smart" livelihoods projects while advancing major projects, and promote continuous cooperation in various fields, in a bid to inject new impetus to the China-Pakistan all weather strategic partnership of cooperation, he noted.

Sanjrani thanked China for its long-term assistance to Pakistan, especially the strong support from the CIDCA in the post-pandemic and post-disaster reconstruction of his country. He said that deepening cooperation with China is a consensus among all circles in Pakistan, and Pakistan is ready to work with China to jointly build the Belt and Road to a high standard and implement the Global Development Initiative, in a bid to benefit the people in both countries and write a new chapter in the Pakistan-China friendship.

Pakistani Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque, Director-General of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Liu Junfeng and Director-General of the CIDCA's Department of International Affairs Xu Wei also attended the meeting.
