CIDCA vice-chairman meets with Zimbabwean minister of finance

On Oct 26, 2023, Tang Wenhong, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Minister of Finance of Zimbabwe Mthuli Ncube. The two sides signed and exchanged documents on food aid and Juncao technology cooperation projects.

Tang spoke highly of the friendly cooperative relations between China and Zimbabwe, saying that China is ready to work together with Zimbabwe, under the guidance of the key consensus reached between the two heads of state, to implement the Global Development Initiative (GDI), outline targeted assistance plans, innovate cooperation methods, and expand project financing sources, so as to jointly contribute to more fruitful results in bilateral cooperation.

Ncube expressed sincere gratitude to China for its selfless assistance and valuable support to Zimbabwe over the years, and pledged to strengthen his nation's strategy alignment with China, further deepen pragmatic bilateral cooperation, and jointly promote the sustained high-level development of Zimbabwe-China relations.

The two sides also held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation projects. Officials of the two sides, including Zimbabwean Deputy Minister of Finance David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Davis Marapira, as well as Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding, Commercial Counselor Huang Minghai, deputy head of the Agency for International Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce Ai Yinfang, and Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs Zhang Lihua, also attended the meeting.
