On Nov 1, 2023, Tang Wenhong, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Foreign Minister of Honduras Eduardo Enrique Reina García and Secretary of State in the President Office Rodolfo Pastor, upon invitation.
Tang said that the consensus reached between the two heads of state in June this year highlighted the direction for the development of bilateral relations. Noting that China attaches great importance to and supports the socioeconomic development of Honduras, Tang said China is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with Honduras, and actively explore cooperation in the field of people's livelihoods, in a bid to yield more results in development cooperation which will benefit the people in both countries.
Both Reina and Pastor reiterated that the Honduran government firmly abides by the one-China principle. They thanked China for its valuable support for the economic and social development of Honduras, and pledged to strengthen cooperation with China in development fields, and to jointly promote the continuous development of bilateral ties.
Cai Fang, deputy director-general of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs, also attended the meeting.
